Information for Entrants: Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the University of Nova Gorica How do students eat?
Student exchange programmes are gradually becoming a compulsory part of the study process due to their ever growing popularity. Students have a vide choice of such projects. However, the Erasmus+ exchange programme is certainly the most famous one. This programme allows students to complete part of their academic obligations in another country on the basis of a signed student exchange agreement between their native faculty and the faculty abroad.
With the Erasmus+ student exchange programme, students:
- increase self-esteem, develop self-confidence and self-initiative,
- improve learning competencies and all skills, especially language skills,
- increase multicultural awareness,
- become more active in the society,
- broaden employment opportunities,
- deepen their knowledge in the programmes and projects provided by the EU and other countries,
- reinforce the motivation for further education.
In order to be enrolled in the Erasmus+ programme for study purposes, students must have a student status at the time of enrolment, and be at least at the second year of studies in their basic study programmes. First year students can also apply for the participation in the exchange programme if they wish to spend the entire 2nd academic year abroad. Students can stay under an exchange programme for at least 3 months and at most of 12 months during one academic year.
A student enrolled in the Erasmus+ exchange programme can receive financial assistance in order to cover the costs of leaving in a foreign country. The amount of such scholarships depends on the home university and the country of exchange. The financial assistance is only valid for the duration of regular studies according to the academic calendar of a partner university.
